Too inaccurate and difficult to use

Maybe Im missing something, but I trace along the grass "path" and the game wont accept it for whatever reason. Sometimes I have to draw it 15 times, and from what I can tell Im not doing anything wrong. Maybe if the path werent indicated by large patches of grass it would be easier to know where Im supposed to be drawing it?

Very frustrating, which defeats the entire purpose!
